The Rasmus will perform at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu at the end of February. The band makes a come back after a long pause. Their latest release was Best of 2001 – 2009 release in November 2009, and Black Roses in September 2008.
The band will play at the Helsinki Ice Hall for the first time their new single I’m a mess. According to Lauri Ylönen the song brings on the feeling from tne previous Into -album. The new album of The Rasmus will be released later this later.
The Rasmus is one of the most successfull Finnish bands and they sold over 3,5 million albums.
At the sixth UMK- final, additionally to The Rasmus will also perform aradise Oskar & Felix Zenger, Minna Tervamäki, Eun-Ji Ha ja Linda Haakana.
Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu is in Helsinki Icehall on 25.02. Tickets 35-40 euro

The Rasmus back in studio in 2 weeks!

The Finnish magazine Pohjalainen published a short article here, with Lauri from the Vaasa Rockfestival.
-Nervous a bit, but in a good way. My set is about 40 minutes, but the gig should be of 60, Lauri was wondering.
As for the end of the gig Lauri washes his feet with vichy water.
-I do that always after gigs.
-There will come a break of the gigs when Lauri goes to studio with The Rasmus in 2 weeks time.

The Rasmus makes a comeback!
The Finnish band, The Rasmus are coming back with a new album, says Iltalehti.
According to the band’s singer Lauri Ylönen, their planning to start working on the new album early next month.
- ”Fingers crossed. We make time for the next album and make it sound more rock,” Ylönen says.
Ylönen ventured in to a solo career this year, making many fans suspicious that The Rasmus would never return.
- “Respite came to me and others at the right time.”
Ylönen cannot yet say when the new album will be released.
